Black Mountains Falconry Display

Roger and June James have been falconers for over forty years, and are involved in all sorts of falconry related areas, such as displays, corporate entertainment, film and scientific studies.
The film Flying with Kites made with Iolo Williams, where he was trained to fly a paraglider together with their Red Kites, won two Welsh BAFTA’s and has been screened by the BBC many times. These birds are the only Red Kites in the world flown at public shows, where they are accompanied by a beautiful piece of music.
During their displays, the public is encouraged to take part in the flying of the birds and their commentary is both informative and entertaining.
The static displays accompanying the flying, offer people the chance to see many different types of birds of prey, with falconers ready to offer advice and help.
Throughout the year, Roger and June run a variety of courses, hunting days and red kite “safaris”.
