Meirionnydd farmer wins grassland trophy
The keenly contested All Wales Grassland Farming Competition run by the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society in conjunction with the Federation of Welsh Grassland Societies and HSBC Bank, has been won by Emyr Jones of Rhiwaedog, Rhosygwalia, Bala, Gwynedd.
A member of the Meirionnydd Grassland Society, he was one of five finalists for the Federation’s Perpetual Trophy which will be presented to him on the first day of the Royal Welsh Show. He will also receive sponsorship to attend the British Grassland Society’s summer meeting.
The runner-up in this year’s competition is Gwyndaf Davies of Trefwtial Fawr, Tremain, Cardigan, a member of the Cardigan & District Grassland Society. He will receive a cheque for £50.
The four other finalists will also receive trophies.
