RWAS-Harper Adams award winner

A student from Carmarthenshire is this year’s winner of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society-Harper Cymry Student Award.  Owain Harries of Heol Pontardulais, Crosshands, Llanelli, becomes the eleventh winner of the award since its introduction in 1999 to encourage students from Wales at Harper Adams University College to contribute fully to developing both their academic and personal potential.

The award, promoted jointly by the RWAS and Harper Cymry, recognises the student with the best academic record who has also made a positive contribution to the broader student learning environment of the college through its clubs, societies and other extramural activities.

The award also embraces the contribution made by the student to the activities of Harper Cymry which is the college-based club for students from Wales.  In addition, when interviewing candidates for the award, the adjudicators also look for the student who has the best thought-out career plans and potential.
