Countryside Care Area
A warm welcome was extended to all visitors to the Show in 2010 when they visited the Countryside Care area.
The area has become more and more important in recent years; it brings together relevant bodies and organisations to present a coherent and balanced view of environmental issues and policies involved in achieving a sustainable future.
There was a wealth of information available on the environment, countryside, recreation, heritage and organic food production and a wide range of interest to farmers, those involved in the countryside, the general public and children.
The following organisations will be present:
British Waterways |
|

Our waterways are rich in heritage, abundant in wildlife and alive with culture. Take time to meet our team and see first hand how we are carefully unlocking their economic potential while safeguarding their priceless heritage.

Environment |
|
More than 80 per cent of Wales is farmland so farmers have a big influence on improving the water environment. At Environment Agency Wales we recognise the importance of working with the farming community to help create a better environment. Good farming also benefits farm incomes, the environment and the rural economy. This year, our stand in the Countryside Care Area will focus on the profits farmers can make from good environmental practice. We will have advice on how farmers can better manage their soil and nutrients and increase their profits
As well as focusing on how farmers can save money, we will be promoting the ways in which everyone can enjoy their water environment. Come and watch our Raving River Buddies animation and meet a sport-mad crayfish, our female salmon and a grandfather pearl mussel who has a chesty couch caused by pollution from the past, and his curious grandson. They all live in a Welsh river where the water is now much improved and want to keep it that way for future generations.
We’ll have lots of interactive games, so you can have fun as you learn about Wales’ water environment. Visit Environment Agency Wales at the show.
