The Royal Welsh Agricultural Society was formed in 1904, and the first Event was held in Aberystwyth in the same year. Wales & the Society have come a long way since those early days, and now the annual Royal Welsh Show is one of the biggest events in Wales' Calendar.

a great showThe Society is delighted by the successful outcome of 2007's shows, which were staged in the worst weather since the Royal Welsh moved permanently to Llanelwedd, Builth Wells in 1963

2007 was a Challenging  ‘Royal Welsh’ year with record crowds attending the Smallholder & Garden Festival. Plans are well underway for 2008, and the Feature County for this year is Clwyd. Their adopted project for 2008 is the development of the new Food Hall.

Another exciting new ‘Feature County’ venture is the Clwyd Royal Welsh 2008 website which lists all the activities and events organised by the Area Committees in the build up to the Smallholder & Garden Festival, the Royal Welsh Show, and the Winter Fair.
