Ceisiadau yn cynyddu’n arw ar gyfer Sioe Cynnyrch a Gwaith Llaw y Ffair Aeaf

Not since they were introduced at the Winter Fair 15 years ago have the event’s produce and handicraft classes proved so popular with competitors.  The organisers of the section have been almost overwhelmed by a surge in the number of entries which have soared to 1058 compared with 607 in 2009.

Ceredigion, this year’s Royal Welsh feature county, introduced the produce and handicraft section at the Fair in 1995, when the county was last featured, in order to widen its appeal and this year’s record entries are a measure of the success of Ceredigion’s initiative.

“The response has been incredible although the extra 450 entries have presented us with a few additional problems in accommodating them all and sorting out the programme for judging,” said Assistant Honorary Director of the Fair, Mrs Kay Spencer.  “However, everything has been satisfactorily arranged and we are looking forward to a highly successful show.”

The enlarged produce and handicraft section has been switched from its customary location in the showground’s South Glamorgan Exhibition Hall to a new venue in the old food hall now named the Clwyd Glamorgan Hall.  The Floral Art Show and the antiques stalls will also be sited there.

As usual the Winter Fair will have a seasonal theme and the event with its food hall, gift hall and hundreds of trade stands, will again be a big attraction for Christmas shoppers.

Tickets for the Fair, which takes place on the showground at Llanelwedd, Builth Wells, on November 29 and 30, can be obtained in advance online at tickets@rwas.co.uk or from the ticket office on 0844 545 0517.  Single day tickets for adults cost £9 (advanced online) or £10 at the gate and £2 for children, aged 5-16 years.  Two-day tickets for adults are £18.  Student tickets are available for £8 and these can be purchased pre-show only.

Members of the RWAS are being offered admission tickets at the discounted price of £7.50 purchased in advance.  The closing date for applications is November 19.
