The Royal Welsh Agricultural Society’s Student of the Year Awards for 2011 have been won by T Huw Williams of Penegoes, Machynlleth, Powys (food production) a student at Coleg Llysfasi, and Jack Botttoms of Aberaeron, Ceredigion (non food production) who has been studying at Coleg Meirion Dwyfor-Glynllifon. The winners will each receive a certificate and a cash prize for a study tour.
The annual award is open to students who have completed NVQ Level III or the BTEC ND/NC, C&G Certificate/Diploma courses in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Nursing, Horse Management, Countryside Management or other land-based related management courses.
The students, both of whom will be invited to write an article for the Royal Welsh Journal, will be presented with their awards on the first day of the Royal Welsh Show at Llanelwedd, Builth Wells, on Monday, July 18.
