Visitors to next week’s four-day Royal Welsh Show at Llanelwedd, Builth Wells, are being urged to make the journey in comfort and travel by train.
“They can sit back and relax, admire some of the finest scenery in Wales and arrive at the showground refreshed and ready for a full day’s entertainment,” said Royal Welsh Chief Executive, David Walters.
“Those who have sampled this alternative to travelling to the show by car have been delighted by the experience which is a pleasurable and hassle-free way of getting there.”
Revised car parking arrangements have been put in place for the show but for those who decide to let the train take the strain, the following departure and arrival train times will apply.
On each of the four days of the show the train will depart Cardiff Central Station at 7.08 and stop at 23 stations en route arriving at Builth Road at 10.34 before continuing to Llandrindod Wells. Stops along the way include Bridgend, Port Talbot Parkway (7.49), Neath, Swansea (8.10), Pontardulais, Llandeilo (9.14) and Llangammarch.
On the return journey the train will depart Builth Road at 18.10 and arrive at Cardiff Central at 21.27 again stopping at all stations on the line.
A shuttle bus service will operate both ways from Builth Road to Llanelwedd.
