The Royal Welsh Show

The Royal Welsh Show is one of the most prestigious events of its type in Europe, and brings together the farming industry and rural community in a celebration of the best of British agriculture with a unique and very special ‘Welsh' flavour.

The decision to go ahead with the 2007 Royal Welsh Show after weeks of heavy rain proved to be fully justified when the attendance figure clicked past 200,000 on the final day.

Despite the problems of parking thousands of cars in challenging conditions supporters of the show from across Wales and elsewhere demonstrated their loyalty to the event by turning up in force over four days.  As a result the Royal Welsh maintained the run of attendances that have exceeded 200,000 every year since 1989.  The final figure was 201,379.

The Society is delighted by the successful outcome of the show which was staged in the worst weather since the Royal Welsh moved permanently to Llanelwedd, Builth Wells in 1963

Thanks

a great show

We'd like to give a special thanks to all the visitors, exhibitors, stewards, judges and sponsors that helped make this event a success. Praise is also due to the exhibitors of 7600 livestock, the 1000 trade stand holders and all other exhibitors who braved the bad weather.

The society is also extremely grateful to the residents of Builth Wells and the surrounding area for being so patient and understanding.
