The Royal Welsh Show
Over 68,000 visitors on third day of Royal Welsh Show
More than 20 events in the Main Ring ranging from the spectacular parade of prize winning livestock to a vintage machinery display featuring the world’s oldest tractor await visitors to the final day of the four day Royal Welsh Show today.
With attendance for the first three days exceeding 180,000 including 68,024 by mid afternoon on the third day (a figure to be confirmed as a record) and an expected last day attendance of more than 40,000, Royal Welsh officials are already hailing the 2008 event as another great success for the RWAS.
Temperatures on the showground on Wednesday soared to the upper seventies and the coolest place was to be found in the dairy produce section of the Glamorgan Hall where 480 examples of butter, cheese, yoghurt and ice-cream are on display in a constant 12 degrees.
Among the visitors today will be the Conservative Party Leader, David Cameron, who is attending the Show for the first time, Jim Paice, the Shadow Minister of Agriculture and Lord Dafydd Elis Thomas, Presiding Officer, National Assembly for Wales.
If you wish to reminisce or could not attend the Royal Welsh Show in 2007 why not peruse the Royal Welsh Photo Gallery at your leisure.

The decision to go ahead with the 2007 Royal Welsh Show after weeks of heavy rain proved to be fully justified when the attendance figure clicked past 200,000 on the final day.
Despite the problems of parking thousands of cars in challenging conditions supporters of the show from across Wales and elsewhere demonstrated their loyalty to the event by turning up in force over four days. As a result the Royal Welsh maintained the run of attendances that have exceeded 200,000 every year since 1989. The final figure was 201,379.
The Society is delighted by the successful outcome of the show which was staged in the worst weather since the Royal Welsh moved permanently to Llanelwedd, Builth Wells in 1963
Thanks
We'd like to give a special thanks to all the visitors, exhibitors, stewards, judges and sponsors that helped make this event a success. Praise is also due to the exhibitors of 7600 livestock, the 1000 trade stand holders and all other exhibitors who braved the bad weather.
